Communication!

Interconnected with social skills, we teach communication skills to children who have difficulties speaking, have communication disorders, delays in language, and non-vocal individuals.
We assess and teach appropriate communication skills. We may use assessment tools called The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) and The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS).

• The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) assesses the language, learning, and social skills of your child.

• The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS) assesses and determines the basic linguistic and functional skills of your child.

Then we begin teaching verbal behavior. We teach Manding, Tacting, Echoic and Intraverbals among others.

2. Tact - A comment used to share an experience or draw attention
3. Intraverbal - A word used to respond or answer a question
4 Echoic - A repeated, or echoed, word
