What is a Functional Assessment?
It is a continuous collaborative process that combines observing, asking questions, listening to family stories, and observing and analyzing client's skills and behaviors in everyday routines and activities across multiple situations and settings.

Choose a problem behavior to change.

Measure the problem behavior by collecting data.

Determine the function (purpose) of the problem behavior.

Conduct a functional analysis when possible

Create a behavior intervention plan.

Teach a new alternative behavior.

What is a Skills Assessment?
A skills assessment is an evaluation of an individual’s ability to perform a specific skill or set of skills, and is a good starting point when declaring our intervention plans. Every child is reassessed regularly to monitor progress.
